I am a student of economics and population studies. I am working as an Assistant Professor of Economics at Dinhata College (under Cooch Behar Panchanan Barma University and the University of North Bengal) in the district of Cooch Behar, West Bengal, India.
Although economics deals with maximisation of utility or production of goods and services, it does also talk about sacrifice and altruism. I will share my works and such views and ideas with you all with some eccentricity! However, please correct me at any stage, if I go wrong! Of course time will correct me otherwise.
I am influenced much by a simple but powerful statement of Keynes: “The ideas of economists and political philosophers, both when they are right and when they are wrong, are more powerful than is commonly understood. Indeed the world is ruled by little else.”
The mantra, which appears at the top of the page, is due to Sree Sree Swami Swarupananda Paramhansa Deva. It is gender sensitive: ‘mangaloham’ for him and ‘mangalaham’ for her – please read it accordingly.
